Prior to her graduation she became the first student law in turn to have interned in the homicide division working directly with homicide prosecution prosecutors. In 1988, she was an intern clerk for United States Judge Edward B Davis. Thereafter in 1990, she turned down several prestigious positions at private firms and moved to the Broward County State Attorney’s office where she became the first law student to have completed an internship in the homicide division. She worked directly under Chuck Martin, whom at the time, was the head of that division. During her time there she was able to participate in the preparation of homicide cases for trial reviewing evidence working directly with prosecutors and the victims’ families. She remained at the Broward County State Attorney’s office for three years where she also worked in the misdemeanor division, vice and obscenity, the felony dissipation and ended her career there as a supervisor or lead attorney in the felony division. Upon leaving the State Attorney’s office, Linda became a criminal defense attorney where she continued her litigation practice for several more years until she began to focus her area of practice on marital, family law and domestic relations where she has spent the last 20 years of her practice.
Linda has gained a large client base through her dedication and commitment to providing competent legal representation, with compassion, understanding and an eye towards an amicable resolution in all cases.
In the 20 years that Linda has been practicing as a domestic family law attorney, 100% of her client base is from positive referrals from prior clients. The essence of Linda’s practice is a desire to move parties through the very difficult process of divorce or any other contested issues regarding the distribution of peoples properties, assets & liabilities and most importantly the issues involving minor children. It has become a passion of Linda’s to create a format where the children of divorces are not impacted negatively through the process of divorce or the separation of two parents. Linda is a strong advocate for mediation and believes that 100% of cases should be resolved through the process. There are however cases where parties are unwilling to reach an equitable resolution and there is a need for the matter to go to trial. In these instances, her extensive background in litigation has made a her a very successful litigator and trial lawyer.
Linda’s family roots go back to the great state of Texas where she is also a licensed attorney. Her practice has remained in the state of Florida but she continues to travel to Texas where she hopes to retire.
